Job Summary :

Works with the business and management to define critical business issues and opportunities, lead planning sessions, manage market and competitive research, conduct analyses, and support M&A activity. Utilizes this work to identify and communicate strategic insights and findings to appropriate
stakeholders including leading sessions with divisional leadership on areas of strategic focus to facilitate action planning. Responsible for divisional strategy formulation, monitoring strategy execution, and corporate development activity including M&A. Responsible for monitoring, interpreting and
communicating all trends that occur within the respective division and industry. Will fully manage work product and communication with all internal and external stakeholders

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develops and drives divisional strategic initiatives based on thought leadership of current trends andanalysis relevant to the appropriate domain. Introduces innovative thinking and develops ideas toenhance the value proposition of the division combined offerings to corporations and consumers thatwill drive value creation for Walgreens Health.
  • Oversee market analysis and insights, and competitive intelligence assessments to inform strategicplanning
  • Guide divisions to effectively cascade and implement initiatives properly aligned with the enterprise wide priorities
  • Leads projects that may include internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for managingstakeholder relationships as well as ensuring the project work is completed through both individual contribution and managing project team members.
  • Identifies and communicates strategic insights and findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead efforts to support annual strategy planning cycle for Walgreens Health, including meetings andguidance to strategic projects across WBA.
  • Aligns Walgreens Health Strategy against WBA 3 year financial planning processes.
  • Prepares Walgreens Health strategy materials for WBA executive management team and WBABoardof Directors as needed.
  • Develops and monitors critical and strategic KPIs for Walgreens Health, and ensuringWalgreensHealth execution plans align against delivering on those KPIs as well as broader WBA KPIs..
  • Manages the analysis of internal business metrics (current product mix, market share, distributionchannels, pricing strategy, and other internal competitive factors) to enable strategic decision making.
  • Manages cross functional team members on project work. Guides and mentors less experienced teammembers. May participate in teaching and training members of the work team.
  • Advisor to divisional leadership on areas of strategic focus, sharing insights and performance analysisthat will highlight areas of opportunity and success; facilitate action planning with divisional leaders.
  • Oversees the analysis of potential acquisition and investment candidates, the performance ofcomplex financial modeling and other analyses to support of the negotiation for selected transactions.
  • Researches industry participants and competitive landscape to develop actionable awareness ofpotential acquisition and investment candidates. Evaluates target companies for financial, operationaland strategic fit and understands and evaluates the impact of the potential transaction on businessstrategy.
  • Develops and executes strategic acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and strategic investmentsfrom inception through due diligence, valuation, negotiation, closing and integration of a transaction
  • Leads projects that entails working with internal and external stakeholders on M&A related activity orother strategic partnership opportunity. Responsible for managing stakeholder relationships as well asensuring the project work is completed through both individual contribution and managing projectteam members.

The actual salary an employee can expect to receive, plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable, will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least eight years of experience in a business management, corporate development, strategic planning and/or an analytical role in finance OR High School GED and at least 11 years of experience in a business management, corporate development, strategic planning and/or an analytical role in finance
  • Experience collaborating with both internal resources, external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Experience in market analysis and research and competitive intelligence
  • Experience building financial models and calculating / analyzing financial metrics, ratios, calculations and public financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Experience presenting and reporting on project plans and cost benefit analyses to stakeholders, executives and senior management.
  • Experience with long term strategic planning
  • Experience in strategic planning, business plan development, and building business cases andcommercial/financial modeling
  • Experience managing multiple complex initiatives involving new business initiatives andorganizational transformation of large organizations
  • Experience with complete corporate development processes, with proven history of successfulexecution of investment and acquisition / M&A activities
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or MBA
  • Experience in healthcare or consulting industry
  • Experience working in an ambiguous environment
  • At least 10 years experience in a business management, corporate development, strategic planning and/or an analytical role in finance
