Job introduction:
The Secure DevOps organization within Liberty Mutual is looking to hire an outstanding candidate that is a blend of a Senior Financial Analyst and Senior Data Analyst. The Cloud FinOps team helps Liberty Mutual maximize the value of its Cloud investments. The team provides detailed cost and usage data to the enterprise and is responsible for managing a consumption-based chargeback program. In addition, the team acts as a trusted advisor to technology partners and helps drives cloud financial optimization by providing education and optimization opportunity data for teams to act on. You will use your business acumen and analytical expertise to perform ad hoc financial analysis and effectively communicate the results to management. Additionally, you will lead efforts to continuously improve processes to increase the speed and effectiveness of financial analysis related to Cloud costs, usage, and optimization.
Note: This is a range posting (Senior/Principal level). The offered salary/title will be based on the selected candidate's skills and experience.
About the job:
- Analyzes cloud spend, develops monthly/quarterly forecasts, and provides key insights that drive business decisions.
- Develops ad hoc and on-going cloud financial forecasts and models that assist in making decisions, effectively communicating trends and outcomes.
- Partners with exceptional software engineering and data teams to curate enterprise-wide reporting, applicable to all technology stakeholders.
- Creates complex management reports and associated analyses that explain financial results or changes to the forecast or plan, investigating discrepancies and trends to identify business drivers of results. Review the analysis and reports developed by other teammates and contributes to culture of continuous feedback.
- Research’s and solves data issues from cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Leads or actively participates in increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities by proactively accessing, transforming, and telling stories with data
- Design & develop FinOps reports by gathering requirements, using data visualization tools to create visually appealing reports, and seeking team & customer feedback.
- Able to work both independently and frequently collaborate with team and cross-functional projects while contributing to shared goals for the team and enterprise. Provide and accept feedback from leadership, peers, and stakeholders.
Highly Qualified applicants will have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field).
- FinOps or Cloud Service Provider certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or financial analysis, preferably in a cloud environment or with cloud cost management.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with their billing models and cost management tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex data and insights to stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting/finance and technology with drive to continuously learn.
- Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
- Ability to evaluate complex business requirements and effectively partner with stakeholders to find a solution.
- Communicates effectively with teammates and others, leads meetings, and interacts with increasingly higher levels of management to gather information and effectively present results and recommendations.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.
