$17.73 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced technical work providing customer service by assisting the general public in completing the planning and development process relating to building permits.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or its equivalent PLUS three (3) years of direct customer service experience PLUS must successfully complete all of the classes for any one (1) phase of the Brevard County Employee Development Program and receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the phase examination within twelve (12) months of employment OR one (1) year as a Brevard County Customer Service Representative I PLUS successful completion of all of the classes for any one (1) phase of the Employee Development Program and receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the phase examination PLUS a current performance evaluation score of 4.0 or higher, with no performance evaluation factors with a rating of a 1 or 2. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience in a construction environment, building department, or permitting and development is preferred. Successful completion of college coursework in a construction field is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, an active Florida Notary Public certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform. emergency duties as directed
