$20.94 to $23.03 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Beachside/South Area/South Beach Community Center. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs skilled paraprofessional work in organizing and supervising specialized recreation activities at parks or other recreation areas. Supervision is given to assigned recreational paid and volunteer staff.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or a closely related field; OR two (2) years of college coursework in any area PLUS two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in recreation physical education or a closely related area. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience in the development, organization, and administration of athletic programs is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5). In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
