Overview of the Program:

Role is within the Technology / Cybersecurity division, where interns will be working as part of a small team of analysts. Specifically, this role reviews client transactions, conducts initial analysis, and identify potentially suspicious financial crime, terrorist finance, or sanctions evasion activities and escalate cases for further review.  This role requires timely research of entities and/or individuals using both public domain and bank client data.  Interns will maintain regular contact with business personnel to obtain necessary information about customers and accountancy activity.  Interns will help with the design and development of monitoring reports while testing enhancements to the monitoring program.  Finally, interns will support senior staff in researching and responding to regulatory requests

Training will be provided by UBS at no charge to SM and includes American Banking Association certifications in AML, Compliance and Risks.

Duration: 90-120 Days

Training Specifics:

Internship: The training program is designed to provide interns with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to transition into full-time employment with UBS as a Technology/Cybersecurity Analysts.  Interns will receive a combination of on the job, classroom setting and computer-based training.  Interns who demonstrate satisfactory completion of training objectives and receive positive performance reviews can expect to be offered full-time employment at one of UBS’s locations within the continental United States.   Training objectives include:

·         Interns will learn how to optimize how business divisions and functions govern their critical data.

·         Interns will learn to integrate data into cloud hosting solutions.

·         Interns will learn how to source suitable technology to help stakeholders achieve data management goals.

·         Interns will learn how data consumers and producers discover and share data.

·         Interns will learn how to establish strong working relationships with Business and Technology stakeholders.

At conclusion, having met all training objectives and performance goals, interns are prepared for a Technology/ Cyber Security role at UBS or any other financial institution.

Your role:

·         Technology application support and help desk operations

·         Database management and operations & automation and data analytics

·         Programming skills – Python, Java, SQL, or other industry standard languages/frameworks

·         Mission control – The brain of all technology events. Managing global production events and system readiness for business around the world.

·         Cybersecurity – understanding of industry standard frameworks such as NIST, MITRE, SOC monitoring, incident response or other cybersecurity related skills

·         Data Centers experience supporting technology infrastructure in high availability environments. Understanding of server, network, storage, and appliance hardware. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and mechanical environment is beneficial.

Your expertise:

·         pending an honorable discharge from active service from US Armed Services

·         must be a transitioning service member approved for DOD SkillBridge to be considered

·         4-year college degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

·         Bachelors / master’s degree or equivalent highly desirable

·         Technology or Cybersecurity experience in one or more of the following disciplines:

·         Analytical, with the ability to provide practical solutions and prioritize a diverse workload with multiple deadlines

·         Result-oriented and assertive (you do not shy away from challenging situations)

·         Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, and change directions based on business demands

US Army: 17S, 25D, 25B, 25N, 35F, 68A, 13S, 12Y

US Air Force: 17D. 3C0X2, 3D1X1, 3D0X2, 1N1X1, 3D1X2, 2G0X1, 2S0X1, 1N2X1, 1C4X1, 2A7X1, 3E0X1

Delivery of Training:

All training will be delivered on-site, in person and under the direct supervision and guidance of a fully trained and qualified Director or Manager, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.  Training will also be supported by other employees, each with 3-5 years’ experience, supporting training in specific functional areas.  Mentorship and feedback sessions will be provided by the veteran’s affairs department on a recurring basis.

Instructional Model:

Interns will receive a majority of their training in the office setting with job shadowing and on the job training (OJT).  Additional classroom instruction, computer-based training and industry certifications may be used to supplement OJT.
