Bringing Home the Dough
Supervises activities of engineering personnel, ensures that plant facilities and equipment are properly maintained. Ensures uninterrupted production schedules according to standards. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
- Contributes to and protects company profits.
- In coordination with Human Resources Department, recruits and hires qualified salaried engineering staff and engineering technicians.
- Supervises, trains, and directs engineering supervisors, technicians and other engineering personnel.
- Establishes training programs for employees.
- Ensures that production technicians are properly trained in preventive maintenance procedures and operation of equipment.
- Prepares and maintains preventative maintenance program.
- Inspects plant daily.
- Communicates with department heads on problem areas.
- Purchases maintenance supplies and equipment within budgetary limitations.
- Maintains adequate parts inventory.
- Conducts plant inspections with all regulatory and/or insurance agency representatives.
- Establishes and maintains good employee relations.
- Promotes established safety programs and monitors employee compliance.
- Assist in evaluating and preparing operating budgets.
- Makes recommendations on disciplinary action and otherwise participates in the disciplinary action process as necessary.
- Ensures employee compliance with work rules.
- Advises management of potential damage or abuse to equipment or facilities.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.)
- Performs other duties deemed by management to be and integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years experience in plant maintenance and engineering in a maintenance supervisory role. Demonstrated knowledge in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning; Refrigeration, Welding, Electronic/Electrical Equipment repair, Industrial Equipment installation, etc.
Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements
Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. AIB Engineering certificate. Completion of formal management skills training program.
