Description of Essential Duties
+ + Communicate and listen effectively with customer, coworkers, and branch manager. Specifically understanding the customer's needs and communicating with BrandSafway's Site Manager to understand job scope and schedule.
+ Develop pre-job plan to assure the proper Safway equipment is available per job requirements, which could require the development of layout design, estimating, bidding, and change orders.
+ Maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with project safety program requirements
+ Manage certain aspects of contracts (rental equipment, expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.
+ Oversee all craft manpower at the job site, always being cognizant of cost and scheduling impacts to insure the manpower is at a profitable level (i.e. minimizing overtime hours).
+ Perform administrative duties such as yard and job site inventory, safety meetings, fall plans, hazard analysis, payroll time sheets, equipment rental, return tickets, change orders, time and material tickets, bill of materials, and other site paper work accurately and neatly.
+ Supervise Scaffold crew(s) and perform craft specific, labor work on an as needed basis on a project.
Supervisor Responsibilities
+ Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
+ Directly supervises scaffold craft personnel.
+ Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees
Qualification Requirements
+ + High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent
+ Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle in a safe manner while carefully observing all traffic regulations
+ Requires excellent oral skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
+ Requires strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach employees to accomplish strategic goals and related tasks. This includes abilities that correspond to leadership, such as recruiting, selecting, training, motivating employees, and managing employee performance.
+ Requires the ability to present a clean professional image and to encourage subordinates to do the same
+ Requires the knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired by 5 years of craft experience in the commercial or industrial markets
Physical Demands
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, and/or use hands and fingers to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, and/or walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move and/or pull up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding equipment, which may include lifting 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding above shoulders (6-7 feet) to erect and dismantle scaffolding and to load onto trucks or racks. The employee must also be capable of continuously carrying/wearing harness and work belt weighing 25-50 pounds while erecting and dismantling scaffolding. Must also be capable of climbing onto trailers or trucks and onto racks to secure and move equipment as well as climbing ladders to access scaffolding up to high, precarious places. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The employee must be available at non-traditional hours to complete projects according to contract or job requirements.
The employee regularly works in high, precarious places, is potentially exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, non-weather heat, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is also regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and may work in varying degrees of confined space. The noise level is usually moderate, but may be loud at certain times while working at construction job sites. There may be work related travel.
