Overview
A Workout credit officer in credit risk management, you'll play an integral role in contributing to the success of Deutsche Bank's Lending franchise. You will work in close collaboration with Workout colleagues to analyze transactions from underperforming clients or in distressed situations. You will also manage a diversified portfolio and participate in regulatory audits. You will also play a critical role in ensuring adherence to all credit policies, associated governance, internal data quality, and regulatory reporting.

What You'll Do
- Analyze transactions and credit requests, mostly in the leverage lending and commercial real estate sectors, including amendments and extensions, exit financing from Chapter 11, debt restructuring and insolvency proceedings, Foreign Exchange (FX)/ Inherent Risk/commodity derivatives, transaction banking, etc. and provide credit recommendations / present to senior management and /or underwriters
- Assist in interactions with and associated on-going reporting requirements for internal / external auditors and regulatory authorities
- Ensure credit approval documentation is consistent with lending policies and applicable regulations
- Portfolio management (in conjunction with credit and front office colleagues): responsible for ongoing quarterly and annual portfolio monitoring for assigned counterparties as well as limit review including oversight of data integrity in credit systems
- Management of and participation in diverse internal projects
How You'll Lead
- Lead individual transactions, collaborating with the deal team and your colleagues in the Workout team, and other stakeholders
- Provide training and guidance to junior credit officers particularly with respect to transactions workflow as well as policy and regulatory adherence
- You will lead projects to improve the credit process or to adapt the portfolio to regulatory changes
Skills You'll Need
- A degree in accounting, finance or economics from accredited college or university (or relevant work experience) and an extensive credit analysis experience (ideally with part in non-investment grade credit lending and/or commercial real estate)
- Solid understanding of leveraged market and regulatory standards with an ability to assess credit structures and documentation and suggest appropriate changes
- Strong accounting and credit risk analysis skills (leveraged loan and high yield structures a plus, as is experience with commercial real estate structures), financial modeling/forecasting, and understanding of derivative structures
- Good knowledge of a range of commercial banking products and associated documentation, such as swaps, FX, Cash management, and Trade finance products
Skills That Will Help You Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate recommendations and build consensus
- Experience related to workouts / distressed credit situations, either in an origination or credit risk management capacity
- Exposure to various industry verticals across the corporate lending space; commercial real estate experience a plus
Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $170,000.00 to $220,000.00. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
