Are you an experienced Color Specialist that is desiring to take the next step in your career, lead projects and be an integral part of driving innovation as part of the PPG team?  If so, this is the role for you!

As a Color Specialist, you will perform independent color matching and styling of new products using digital tools and established processes for Auto OEM organization.   You will leverage your knowledge of chemistry/coatings technology, demonstrate detailed knowledge of polymer and crosslinking chemistries.

You will work onsite at our Cleveland, OH facility and report directly to the Customer Lead, Decorative Coatings.

Responsibilities:

• Independently manage matching, styling projects


• Create formulas in ERP systems.


• Set up testing matrices for specification testing and other experiment design for product confirmations and customer support.


• Manage custom or special projects created to address customer requests and line / production issues.


• Translate formulas across basecoat platforms and spray processes


• Improve processes, using digital tools, spray application, and data analysis to complete projects.


• Work directly with customers to facilitate color approvals.


• Perform proactive 5S and lab safety upkeep.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related Engineering, Science, or Design field with five (5) or more years of experience in color and/or coatings required.


• Pass a physical color blindness test.


• Travel up to 25% required.
