Company History
1928
Founded by Jack Cooper, we started as a carrier for General Motors from the Leeds Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Missouri.
1972
We established Auto Handling which provides yard management services at 6† Jack Cooper terminals, including rail loading and unloading, receiving vehicles at manufacturing plants, shuttling and baying of vehicles, and scanning and dispatching vehicles.
2009
We combined with Active Transportation LLC of Joplin, Missouri making us one of the largest auto and truck transport carriers in the nation.
2010
We established Jack Cooper Logistics to engage in the global non-asset based automotive supply chain for new and used finished vehicles.
2011
We acquired AES, Inc. to provide worldwide shipping services for autos, trucks, boats, construction equipment and various other pieces of heavy machinery.
2011
We acquired DMT Trucking, Inc. the fourth largest union carhaul trucking company in the United States.
2013
We acquired substantially all of the operating assets of Allied Systems Holdings, Inc. and certain of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, including AXIS, CT Services, and AXIS Mexico.
Today
We are the largest transporter of light-vehicles in both the US and Canada. We service most of the major domestic and foreign automotive manufacturers' with 59† terminals primarily in the midwestern and eastern regions of the U.S. and Canada. We are one of the largest inspectors and shippers of pre-owned vehicles with 20† inspection sites across the United States. We have a decade-long track record of operating in Mexico, managing plants, yards, and rail operations.
