Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions (MRP). This role oversees the daily department workflow and staff, manages quotes and vendor follow-ups, and assesses current and future material availability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions (MRP).
Oversee the daily department workflow and department staff.
Manage, control, and obtain quotes and follow up with vendors.
Assess current material availability; reasonably predict future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
Prepare and process purchase orders for materials, supplies, and equipment.
Draft, explain, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
Evaluate the quality, price, reliability, and availability of goods.
Resolve grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
Maintain and implement purchasing and record keeping systems.
Act as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.
Coordinate removal or disposal of surplus materials.
Analyze purchasing budget quarterly.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software such as Sage100, MAS 90, MAS200.
Prior experience and knowledge of ERP systems.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
At least five years of prior purchasing experience is required, preferably in a related industry (HVAC).
