Northrop Grumman, Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for an experienced business development leader* (Business Develop Director 1) to support Aeronautics Sector business and strategy objectives in Europe, with a specific focus on Poland. The position will be the primary interface to Polish customers but will also support broader Europe and NATO development activities to enable growth in awards and market position. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of the region and customer community. Additionally, the candidate will be an expert in Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Customer Sales (DCS) and US Government policy to support export of military aircraft and equipment. The candidate will work closely with the NGAS Europe office based in Brussels, Belgium and our Corporate Global Business Development Office in Warsaw, Poland. This is an expatriate position that will be based in Warsaw, Poland.
The successful candidate will effectively interface and cultivate strategic customer relations with current and potential Polish, European, and NATO customers. Additionally, the candidate will be able to effectively work with regional government authorities and industrial partners. The candidate will cultivate strategic relations with Polish, NATO, EUCOM, and regionally based U.S. military leadership in the region.
Key activities include customer engagement, market assessment, competitive assessment, product development, with a strong emphasis on capture, strategy and execution. Determining customer operational gaps and requirements and helping establish priorities to answer these gaps for international customers, is crucial.
This position will require a deep understanding of DoD, Polish, NATO, and European business practices, requirements generation, and acquisition lifecycles. The ability to articulate platform mission utility, and NGAS mission solution strategies is critical. The position reports to the NGAS Director for European International Strategy and Growth, based in Brussels, Belgium. The role will be based in Warsaw, Poland at a Northrop Grumman facility.

*Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Develop and lead the execution of an integrated strategy for Regional Growth, with an emphasis on Poland, aligned to NGAS sector and corporate priorities
* Provide BD leadership for in-country responsibilities to U.S. based capture and program teams and company senior level executive leadership
* Contribute to the development of internal strategies and plans for Polish and regional growth
* Key Account Manager to Lead and manage external stakeholder engagement and relationships to include customers, governmental officials, trade associations, political advisers, Parliamentary bodies, Industrial Partners and NG Consultant Teams
* Lead and oversee Engagement with representatives from the EU Commission, NATO, Polish Ministry of Defense and Industrial Partners in the Region, hosting and coordinating meetings and workshops
* Lead the Business Development planning and coordination of regional conferences, seminars, tradeshows and sponsorships
* Provide input to strategy and market analysis to support the regional growth strategy
* Provide input into competitive analysis, including the facilitation of red team/black hat reviews and independent research and analysis
* Conduct Research and Analysis on National Procurement Requirements and Processes within the region and mature NGAS opportunities along the Business Acquisition Process to support Sector Growth initiatives
* Conduct Research and Analysis on NATO and EU Procurement Requirements and Processes within the region and identify opportunities for NGAS engagements to support Regional Growth initiatives
* Provide oversight and engagement on Polish, European and NATO Political Affairs
Routine interactions will focus on Poland but also support the NGAS Strategy and Growth team in Europe and the U.S., and with the Corporate BD office in Warsaw. Some travel to the U.S. and within Europe will be required.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree with 12 years or Master's degree with 10 years of related experience in technical, business development and analysis, business management, program management, capture/proposal or similar experience.
* Experience with Polish, European Defense, NATO or other corporate BD international strategy.
* Fluent in English and Polish.
* Ability to travel to the US and within Europe
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree level education in Engineering/STEM, International Affairs or Political Science
* Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and an eye for detail
* Previous experience with the Polish, EU, NATO or international defense and security, specific experience in a European Nation or region would be an advantage
* Demonstrated success aligning teams, organizations or employee resource groups to achieve a common goal and developing deep customer relationships through understanding and trust
* Excellent written and oral presentation skills including the ability to generate written material to communicate to customers at all levels, including senior executives
* Highly motivated, resilient, ambitious, capable of developing and “growing” in post
* Additional language fluency
* Existing NATO Secret Security Clearance
* Experience in conducting market segment analysis and evaluation
* Active US DoD Top Secret clearance
* MS or MA degree
* USAF/USMC/USN/International/Coalition customer knowledge in airborne AEW, HALE, and/or unmanned aircraft.
* Programmatic and technical understanding of advanced airborne surveillance systems
* Deep understanding of Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), Foreign Military Financing (FMF) and US export policy and processes.
* Ability to apply entrepreneurial approaches to expand NGAS markets. Ability to integrate NGAS capabilities into mission level capabilities.
*Salary Range: *$179,600 - $269,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
