Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
- To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
- To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
- To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as a coordinator for studies in suicide prevention.
- Completes administrative tasks, such as literature reviews, IRB documents, and regulatory reports.
- Conducts and supervises screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance. May provide assistance to other coordinators in review of study documents.
- Collects and records preliminary data for clinical research programs.
- Recruits and performs follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
- Requires direct recruitment and retention activities onsite in Nashville, TN 3.5 days each week, and quarterly air travel to other sites across various states.
- Serves as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.
- Travel to study sites in AZ, MD, AL, TN, and other study sites as assigned.
- Serves as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.

Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
- Grants administration experience, clinical research, or program evaluation experience with data collection and retention in community-mental health environments.
- Suicide prevention research and/or program evaluation experience preferred.
