CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR I - Military Veterans

Job Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Psych - Behavioral Neurobiology is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.

General Responsibilities

  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Serves as a coordinator for studies in suicide prevention.
  2. Completes administrative tasks, such as literature reviews, IRB documents, and regulatory reports.
  3. Conducts and supervises screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance. May provide assistance to other coordinators in review of study documents.
  4. Collects and records preliminary data for clinical research programs.
  5. Recruits and performs follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
  6. Requires direct recruitment and retention activities onsite in Nashville, TN 3.5 days each week, and quarterly air travel to other sites across various states.
  7. Serves as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.
  8. Travel to study sites in AZ, MD, AL, TN, and other study sites as assigned.
  9. Serves as a mentor to junior staff, including student assistants.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.


Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferences

  • Grants administration experience, clinical research, or program evaluation experience with data collection and retention in community-mental health environments.
  • Suicide prevention research and/or program evaluation experience preferred.
