The University of Southern California, one of the nations top research universities, invites applications for tenured and tenure-track positions (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, full Professor) in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) ( https://minghsiehece.usc.edu/ ) in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Many of these faculty will be hired as part of USCs $1 billion Frontiers of Computing initiative, the largest and most comprehensive academic initiative in USCs history ( https://computing.usc.edu ). This initiative has already resulted in the creation of the new USC School of Advanced Computing ( https://sac.usc.edu ) in the USC Viterbi School, which includes our Ming Hsieh Department of ECE.
While outstanding candidates from all areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered, candidates with research interests in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: materials, devices, technologies, circuits, computer architecture, systems, and new methods for next generation computing; quantum engineering; data sciences; signal processing, communications, information theory, and machine learning; robotics, autonomy, and control; bioelectronic systems, wearable, and implantable technologies.
Outstanding senior applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership may also be considered for additional distinctions, including the LloydArmstrong, Jr. Endowed Chair , which is supported by USCs Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program endowment, and which requires the WISE Program guidance and concurrence.
Applications must include a cover letter clearly indicating area(s) of specialization, a detailed curriculum vitae, a concise statement of current and future research directions, a teaching statement, and contact information for at least three professional references. The annual base salary range for the following faculty ranks in this posting are:
- Assistant Professor: $120,000 - $145,000
- Associate Professor: $150,000 - $175,000
- Professor: $184,000 - $247,000
