The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Quality Engineer (Mid-level / Senior) to join the Software Quality team in Colorado Springs, CO.
As a member of this Boeing BR&T Software Quality team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with programs to assure the required processes are used for developing, controlling, and verifying software products, whether developed by Boeing or provided by suppliers.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Mid-level and Senior Level Software Engineers.
The successful candidate for this position will have a broad background in software development practices, tools and processes combined with a passion for advocating First Time Quality strategies. Experience with RTCA’s DO-178, DO-330 specifications and knowledge of quality standards (e.g. AS9100 / AS9115) is strongly preferred.

Position Responsibilities:
Defines and maintains program-level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure.
Actively participates in program activities, from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery.
Performs process and product audits to verify software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards.
Supports program milestone and formal review meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting information.
Participates in configuration management activities.
Plans software quality test activities and completion of test readiness activities.
Ensures integrity of the test process and verifies test results.
Works with regulatory agencies and other functions to develop criteria and procedures for software delivery activities.
Performs final reconciliation of software data products.
Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities.
Teams with equipment managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance.
Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement.
Supports the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
3+ years’ experience working in a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized
3+ years’ experience in a Software Quality role
3+ years’ experience working independently to develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution and/or to implement corrective action and/or preventive action
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) auditing
Software Quality Engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements
Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) is strongly preferred
Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, Jira, Collaborator, Bitbucket and Beyond Compare
Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools
Active U.S. Security Clearance
Typical Education/Experience:
Mid-Level (level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range / Mid-level - $89,250 - $120,750
Summary Pay Range / Senior - $107,100 - $144,900
