Program Director--Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering - Military Veterans

Job Summary:
This position encompasses two major complementary responsibilities--Program Director and Adjunct Instructor. These responsibilities are described below.

As Program Director, the person in this role will develop, manage, and expand the Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering program. This will involve collaborating with campus agencies to market the program to prospective students, making admissions recommendations, and serving as academic advisor to program students. They will develop and grow business and academic relationships, including a network of practicing professionals, for the purpose of advancing the program.

The Program Director will assess and forecast program financials based on current and projected enrollment, instructor compensation, and other revenue/expenses.

The Program Director will chair semi-annual meetings of the program's Executive Committee, assessing course content and delivery, instructor performance and availability, current and projected financial health, and general performance of the program. They will also complete program assessment reports, as required.

As Adjunct Instructor, the person in this role will serve as instructor of record and update, prepare for, and teach existing online graduate courses that meet the needs of environmental engineering master's students and professionals. They will solicit and develop "real world" project prompts to include in courses. Courses in the teaching portfolio focus on advanced chemical and energy principles of environmental engineering, hydraulics and applied fluid mechanics, and engineering design.

Education:
Required
Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental emphasis, or a closely related field.
Qualifications:
Candidates with one or more of the following are encouraged to apply:
- 10 or more years of experience in engineering practice with emphasis on environmental engineering including planning, design, and construction-phase services
- 3 or more years of experience with engineering project management
- Experience with educational program management or engineering services marketing and promotion
- Experience teaching undergraduate- or graduate-level coursework in environmental engineering or providing continuing education or mentoring/training for environmental engineers
- Broad knowledge of environmental engineering subdisciplines including wastewater treatment and resource recovery, drinking water, stormwater, solid waste, remediation, etc. is preferred
License/Certification:
Preferred
PE licensure - Professional Engineer, strongly preferred
Work Type:
Part Time: 28% - 50%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Minimum $80,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

- Remote work may be available depending on location. Some travel required.
- This is a non-tenure track position.
