The Defense Systems Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an ATF Compliance Officer (ACO) to work in our Huntsville, Alabama office. Primary Responsibilities
The ACO will assist leadership to assess requirements, monitor and resolve compliance issues, develop, implement, and update ATF procedures, and requirements for various programs. Candidate will work closely with our Explosives Safety Officer and be an active member on our Explosive Safety Board (ESB). The ACO will review and update our existing Explosive Regulatory training for employee explosives users and possessors to ensure employee awareness of ATF regulations, requirements, and responsibilities. The ACO is expected to perform with minimal supervision and successfully interact with all levels of Leidos personnel to monitor and ensure ATF compliance program implementation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Managing ATF documentation for the company to include ATF Licenses, Variances, Waivers, Forms, etc.… 
•    Performing internal assessments and audits to ensure compliance with ATF and Leidos requirements.
•    Work as an active member of the ESB, providing guidance for new projects in relation to ATF compliance
•    Proactively monitor and document ATF program implementation.
•    Working with leadership to identify, track, and resolve ATF issues.
•    Training of personnel in relation to ATF Compliance.
•    Interact with ATF regulatory agency officials during on-site audits and inspections as well as act as the Defense Systems Sector focal point for regulatory inquiries.
•    Maintain current knowledge of ATF legislation and regulations and update internal procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
Basic Qualifications
•    Candidate mist have a BS degree with 8-12 years of prior relevant work experience or a Masters degree  with 6-10 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a High School diploma/GED with 10 years of related work experience will be considered.
•    Must be proficient in; 27 CFR 555 Commerce and explosives; 27 CFR 478 Commerce and Firearms and Ammunition; and 27 CFR 479 Machineguns, Destructive Devices & Certain Other Firearms; 27 CFR 447 Importation of Arms, Ammunition, and Implements of War.
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
•    Ability to multitask and prioritize task
•    Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with a team environment
•    Candidate must have excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft  Office
•    Candidate must be able to lift up to 35ibs
•    Candidate must be a resident of the northern Alabama area or willing to relocate to the area
•    Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
•    Direct experience with ATF regulations, licensing, audit processes, and procedures.
•    Awareness of ITAR and Department of State regulations

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
