Journeyman Test Engineer - Military Veterans

Amentum is now hiring a Journeyman Test Engineer in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction (FLAIR) office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and administer environmental, operational, or performance tests on aeronautical, electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, general industrial, experimental, automotive equipment, industrial machinery and equipment, controls, and systems, and other products and systems.
- Design and direct engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of testing and test-control apparatus and equipment. Positions covered by this definition are characterized by the inclusion of work that requires an understanding of both theories and principles.
- Coordinate and direct engineering activities concerned with the development, procurement installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, telemeter, record, and reduce test data.
- Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
- Direct and exercise control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.
- Confer with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, such as product or systems malfunctions, incomplete test data, and data interpretations considering such factors as conditions under which test was conducted and instrumentation, procedures, and phase of test used to obtain and record data.
- Analyze and interpret test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Security+ certification.
- Minimum of 7 years of working experience. Will accept 5 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting C5ISR DEVCOM programs.
