Department: Athletics - 25900 Vacancy Number: TSP5069PST Temp Position Type: SHRA Temporary Job Category: Athletics FLSA for Position: Nonexempt Brief Summary of Work for this Position: Be part of the UNCW game day experience! We are seeking temporary, as-needed, event staff members for assisting with UNCW home athletic events. Responsibilities include: Collecting tickets for admission to UNCW athletic events Ushering fans to their seats Providing excellent customer service by assisting and directing fans within the facilities Promoting the safety of all fans Understanding security regulations and checking for prohibited items Strong problem solving skills Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalency. Must be highly dependable, flexible, and available to work evenings and weekends. Possess excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public. Strong problem solving skills Ability to stand for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors. Work effectively as a team member. Previous customer service experience preferred. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Previous event staffing experience Required Certifications or Licensure: Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit: College/School Information: Work Hours: As needed basis - usually weekend or evening hours Work Days: Varies by events Hours Per Week: Intermittent, occasional work for events Type of Position: Anticipated Hiring Range: $10-$20/hr Special Instructions to Applicants: Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
