The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you’ll do:
How you will spend your days
As a Product Design Engineer you will support the electrification mobility transformation by working on customer projects, new product development, sustaining product engineering, and with our sales / business development teams for pursuits across Automotive Mobility Group or eMobility product lines. This role will have heavy emphasis on Automotive EV/ Hybrid protection products such as PDU ( power disconnect protection units), PDC ( power disconnect centers).
* This flexible Hybrid (on-site 3 days) engineering role can work at either our Southfield , Michigan .. or.. Tualatin , Oregon location. US Relocation is available for a qualified candidate.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:
• Work with people who bring diverse perspectives, cultures and value to projects, people and customers
• Be part of a cross functional team focused on a project, allowing you to build relationships, learn and with growth, lead aspects of the project work
• Be creative with your team, generating new product ideas while also applying proven solutions to new applications
• Apply robust problem solving methods, allowing rapid product development results
• Document engineered solutions with calculations, 3D models, drawings, and engineering specifications as required for each project
• Collaborate with our sales, supply chain, and business development teams to ensure customer technical requirements are fulfilled
• Support technology development activities within our evolving portfolio of products
• Support project managers to ensure the project deliverables are on time and on budget
• Provide technical support to our production teams to troubleshoot, problem solve and recommend process improvements
• Maintain and revise current products including drawings, literature and marketing materials
• Analyze, recommend and implement ways to improve productivity and save money
• Keep on top of what’s happening in the industry and products by continuing to advance your education – formally and informally
• Find many ways to constantly demonstrate the behavioral and ways of working attributes that have stood the test of time to make our company what it is today
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently possess or will have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date no later than June 2025. Selected candidate must be able to start /relocate to selected Eaton location soon after graduation date.
• Minimum (1) internship experience in an engineering product design related function. Automotive experience a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Position Success Criteria:
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability
• Demonstrated willingness/ability to be hands-on with product prototype building, testing and analysis
• Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to independently manage workload
• Leadership characteristics, motivational, and team interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience with 3D Mechanical CAD program(s) (i.e.: SolidWorks, ProE/CREO, Autocad)
• Strong interest to work in Automotive sector and contribute to expanding eMobility division.
