Job Description
The objective of the Space Protection and Response Solutions contract is to provide innovative technological solutions to ensure our Nation's space mission capabilities in a multi-domain, joint and coalition conflict. We're looking for an experienced part-time Systems and Network Engineer to support Model Based Systems Engineering efforts through supporting system administration and network troubleshooting. The effort will support the force structure planning, Operational Test and Training Infrastructure, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations, support Space Force test and training, and research and development of space systems.
As, the Systems and Network engineer, you will be expected to assist the on-site ISSO and System Administrator with the Certificate to Field and Authority to Operate processes. Additionally, lead the solution and troubleshooting for any networking issues. Most of the work will be on-site at Kirtland AFB, inside of a JWICS terminal for classified information exchange, team meetings, and with periodic travel to support various customers across the continental U.S. U.S. Citizenship and current TS//SCI clearance is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Conducts testing of network systems.
• Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Assist in the operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
• Experience setting up administrator and service accounts, while maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
Minimum Qualifications
• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years' experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Experience interacting with users and evaluating vendor products.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Must have an active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
