Job DescriptionThe St. Cloud State University Intensive English Center and English for Academic Purposes program seek to renew the pool of adjunct instructors available to teach courses in the?IEC?and/or?EAP?as needed. Applicants should be able teach English language skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, pronunciation, spelling, culture, and other courses for college aged and adult English language learners (ELLs)?across various levels of language proficiency from beginning to advanced. Teaching assignments will vary depending on qualifications and departmental needsCompensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1,819 per credit.This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments? access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).Minimum Qualifications??Successful candidates will hold a master?s degree in TESL, Applied Linguistics, or related field. Two or more years? experience teaching a variety of English language skills and proficiency levels in a university/college based Intensive English Program and/or?ESOL?Bridge program.Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
