The candidates hired for the positions will join a dynamic and experienced team of academic nurses and provide instruction in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical settings. We champion the faculty development of and welcome applications from clinically experienced nurses new to the academic setting. Our program was recently revised from the MANE curriculum to a four-semester associate?s program emphasizing our program philosophy.prepare graduates for full participation as advocates and future leaders of the health care team, striving to reflect the communities they will serve.program and graduates collaborate with health care facilities and community organizations, owning a civic, ethical and professional responsibility to address health inequities and disparities.use the best available evidence in making sound clinical judgmentsprovide safe, high quality, holistic nursing care across the lifespan and the health continuum.strong focus on health promotion supports nursing graduates to best serve diverse individuals, families and communities locally, nationally and globally.lifelong learning, reflective nursing practice and insights gained through self-analysis and self-care.Our program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).Normandale Community College is striving to achieve racial equity in educational outcomes. Those hired into these positions will be expected to advance this goal through culturally responsive teaching, identifying barriers to success for students of color, and proposing effective solutions to eliminate those barriers.The successful candidate will be expected to:Teach a broad spectrum of nursing courses in that may include day, evening, and alternate schedule formats utilizing traditional and alternative delivery methods and virtual learning environmentsTeach in an inclusive and equitable manner to a diverse group of learnersProvide instruction and advising to nursing studentsProvide quality instruction that incorporates a variety of current teaching techniques and pedagogies that positively impact the learner and discipline of nursingMaintain ongoing professional development activities that support the college mission, the discipline of nursing, and learner successActively engage in college service, department activities, and learner supportParticipate in program review and accreditation effortsDesign and deliver instruction that incorporates technologies that advance learningMinimum QualificationsEducation RequirementGraduate degree with a major in nursing, orBachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education.Occupational Experience RequirementTwo full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.Recency RequirementOne year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Professional RequirementCurrent unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.Other Requirement:Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignmentsTeaching and Learning Competency Requirementcourse construction (credit course)teaching/instructional methods (credit course)student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course)philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework.
