Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Attorney - Technology and IP for JD World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA or Moline, IL, you will:

  • Lead the legal support for agreements initiated by Deere's IT organization.
  • Advise and provide support for intellectual property agreements and agreements with higher education institutions.
  • Advise other Global Law Services and Regulatory Affairs Group (GLSRA) members on technology-related terms in other agreements.
  • Partner with Deere supply management attorneys to develop and manage relationships with key outside counsel and alternative legal service providers.
  • Develop and modify technology agreement templates.
  • Collaborate with global GLSRA and Public Affairs colleagues to monitor and ensure compliance with global regulations and impending legislation that may impact Deere's Technology Agreement terms and templates.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in technology, data, and IT law through continuing legal education, industry publications, and participation in professional conferences and associations.

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, managing, and advising on technology agreements
  • Experience advising on artificial intelligence legal matters
  • Experience advising on privacy and digital security related legal matters
  • 5 or more years in the practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department
What Makes You Standout

  • Experience advising on intellectual property matters affecting software, cloud computing, and digital platforms
  • Experience collaborating with an IT supply management function
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a technology field, such as Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • License to practice law in Iowa or Illinois, or the ability to obtain Iowa or Illinois license (in-house counsel license is available to qualified applicants)
