As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for the installation, fabrication, and maintenance of structural steel, reinforcing steel, and other metal components for various construction and industrial projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient erection of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate materials and installation methods
- Operate various power tools and equipment, such as welding machines, cutting torches, and hoisting equipment, to cut, bend, and assemble metal components
- Erect and install structural steel, reinforcing steel, and other metal components, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to safety protocols
- Perform maintenance and repair work on existing metal structures and components
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to coordinate the installation and completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and best practices
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Ironworker or in a related metal fabrication or construction role
- Proficient in the use of power tools, welding equipment, and other Ironworker-specific tools and machinery
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues during the installation process
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- High school diploma or equivalent
Working Conditions:
This position will involve working in an industrial setting, often outdoors, and may require exposure to various weather conditions, heavy machinery, and potential hazards. A flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime, may be required to meet project deadlines.
