Community Clinical Therapist | University of Chicago (UC) - Military Veterans

Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: Training and supporting the Supportive Services team members, this includes team trainings on clinical skill building, such as trauma informed care, de-escalation, etc. Hold a caseload of up to 30 mental health clients, providing 1:1 counseling services, completing notes, etc. Follow fidelity monitoring protocols in data collection and documentation in Apricot. Support clinical consultations and crisis intervention (internally referred to as Manager on Duty coverage) in order to support staff and clients when a crisis occurs. Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project. With a moderate level of direction, manages lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan. Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects. Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts. Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education: Advanced degree in a related field. Experience: Experience working with and/or providing care to LGBT populations, Black and Latino community members. Experiences providing services for people with HIV and/or HCV. Preferred Competencies Demonstrated effective leadership and teaching skills. Strong knowledge of program subject matter. Willingness to attend necessary orientation and trainings through Chicago. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility. Creativity. Ability to manage stressful situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Ability and/or willingness to provide HIV/STI treatment, education, and prevention in non-traditional settings (community venues). Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Access and Word. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills. Work in community-based settings and program office.
