Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Software Engineer - 14184. *This position will be located in *Roy, Utah* and will support the Sentinel Program.
The qualified candidate will report to the Team Lead in AVE Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout and is responsible for Developing Software Test Tools.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications
Principal Software Engineer - AVE Software Testing
• Principal Engineer Software: 5 Years with a Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study; 3 Years with a Master's Degree, or 1 Years with a PhD Degree or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as
determined by the company to meet its business need
• U.S. Citizen and Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
• 2 Years software development experience using C/C++.
• 2 Years of experience with Agile, Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket and working in cross-functional Scrum team.
• 2 Years of experience leading Software Engineering teams with the ability to team plan, execute, and manage the technical scope, and support leadership planning.
• 2 Years of with software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance.
Senior Principal Software Engineer - AVE Software Testing
• Senior Principal Engineer Software: 8 Years with a Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study; 6 Years with a Master's Degree, or 4 Years with a PhD Degree or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.

Salary Range: *$95,300 - $142,900
Salary Range 2: *$118,600 - $178,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
