Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Position in PSYD Program
The Psychology Department at Mount Saint Mary's University (Los Angeles) invites applicants with a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, for a full-time, 12-month Tenure Track faculty position in our APA Accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology program, starting August 2025. The successful candidate for this position must demonstrate outstanding commitment to teaching students from traditionally underrepresented populations, managing and directing an academic program, as well as familiarity with APA Accreditation. Our program was recently awarded APA Accredited (on contingency) and will plan to apply for full Accreditation within 2-3years.
Responsibilities. Primary responsibilities include teaching doctoral-level courses in clinical health psychology, specifically courses that address both the applied and scientific foundations of psychology. Other faculty responsibilities include advising and mentoring graduate students, scholarship / research, and participation in department and university service.
Position Annual Hiring Salary Range: $89,000 - $92,000
Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctoral degree in counseling/clinical psychology, from an APA Accredited doctoral program, and be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of California (or be license eligible). Preferred applicants will have experience in administrative duties as well as familiarity with the APA accreditation process. This candidate will demonstrate successful doctoral teaching, and dissertationresearch mentorship as well as a plan for research productivity at the time of appointment.
Other preferred qualifications: Because MSMU is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), applicants who can demonstrate both a commitment to improving access to higher education and effective mentoring of students from underrepresented backgrounds will be particularly competitive. An appreciation of the liberal arts tradition of education and service orientation, as well as experience or interest in contributing to and teaching in a diverse campus environment are required. Additionally, candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in social justice. An understanding of the campus' CSJ mission is a plus. Other preferred qualifications include experience in Psychological Testing as well as grant writing.
