Sr Advanced Project Engineer - Military Veterans

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our engineering team within Honeywell Industrial Automation (IA) Sheet Manufacturing and Gigafactory vertical and project team located in Fort Washington, PA. The individual will be able to conceptualize, design and develop products and systems as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team. You will be a key technical focal point across Honeywell IA engineering teams creating solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. By collaborating with customers and broader engineering teams, you will influence hardware design directions and methodology developments. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation of industrial automation by designing, testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to marketplace project deployment. You will interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the delivery and development of products to customer specifications.

You will report directly to our Sr. Engineering Program Manager, and you'll work out of our Fort Washington, PA location on a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive various aspects of product development activities, including:
o Mechanical design
o Evaluation of new product opportunities
o Product validation activities
o Product certification activities
o Development and execution of characterization testing
Create and evaluate conceptual designs
Perform technical analysis
Implement value engineering principles
Work closely with manufacturing
Resolve engineering problems in all aspects of the mechanical engineering discipline.
Travel to manufacturing, supplier, and customer sites. Likely a 3-5 day trip every few months.

The successful candidate will work in a global environment and must be able to think globally, allowing for cultural, geographical and even time zone differences to ensure project goals and objectives meet business expectations.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in an New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing assembly line environment, with expertise in analyzing and solving complex technical problems.
2+ years of experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo, as well as producing detailed engineering and assembly drawings, cross-checking with actual parts.
1+ year of experience performing laboratory testing to verify design outputs meet design inputs.
Strong communication and technical writing skills, effectively conveying messages to all levels, including senior leadership.

WE VALUE
Experience in Battery Cell Manufacturing and Assembly Line Production.
Ability to interface with vendors about design requirements, performance and quality of purchased parts.
Previous involvement in defining and developing processes related to design, analysis, test, manufacture, quality and productivity. Familiarity with requirements of and considerations for product certification processes indicative of third party or regulatory agency certifications.
Experience in performing classical engineering analysis on designs, such as engineering stress analysis, fatigue and vibration analysis, using both conventional engineering techniques and computer simulation.
Experience in design of injection molded plastic parts, machined plastic and metal parts, cast parts and forged parts.
