We are hiring for an Advanced Application Engineer, to support Honeywell Building Automation for BMS/HVAC controls and/or FAS portfolio for Americas South Install and Service Engineering.
This position is responsible for the designing and programming of BMS or FAS using company tools and operating protocols. Ideally this person would have experience in both disciplines.
In addition, you will participate in cross-functional support to sale/estimation, projects/install PMs, service PMs, and high-level commissioning support remotely or onsite to technicians.
Occasionally, you will also get to participate in beta testing of new products and initiatives.
The
annual base salary range for this position in New York and Connecticut is
$126,000 - $157,000 and for Massachusetts is $145,000 - $180,500. Please note that this salary information
serves as a general guideline. Honeywell

Job Description:
- Design building fire alarm systems or building management systems by selecting the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials and services from the Honeywell product & applications portfolio that will deliver the highest value to the customer while supporting overall Honeywell business objectives.
- Possesses the ability to communicate technical concepts/solutions to internal and external customers; e.g. conducting site walks, accurately reviewing customer specs, and with the ability to identify opportunities, risks, and resources required to achieve results within the proposal cycle.
- Review job contract plans, scope and specifications, survey information, estimates and take-off sheets for opportunities and proposals. Clearly define requirements prior to starting engineering.
- Support Sales and Project Manager on surveys, application selection, layout of potential retrofit opportunities and assessing customers' business objectives and strategies, and utilize this to create accurate and complete estimates.
- Assist onsite technical assistance.
YOU MUST HAVE
Fire Alarm System (FAS) Engineering
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, or 5 years in-field experience in fire alarm systems, including design and/or installation.
- 5 years of experience:
- Fire alarm systems, including voice evacuation and mass notification.
- Development of graphics, hardware, software.
- Estimating through commissioning of a project.
- 3 years of experience with AutoCAD or equivalent tool.
- Knowledge of current NFPA, IFC, IBC, and other applicable codes related to fire alarm systems.
- NICET level II or higher certification, currently active and in good standing.
- Must be a United States citizen and the ability to work on US government projects.
Building Management System (BMS) Engineering
- 5+ years of related experience:
- HVAC control systems.
- Application programming for HVAC control systems.
- Development of graphics, hardware, software.
- Estimating through commissioning of a project.
- 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD or equivalent tool, Microsoft Excel and project.
- 3+ years Field Engineering Experience with energy retrofit projects.
WE VALUE
- Experience with security, card access, and CCTV systems.
- Extensive knowledge of PCs, software, networks, Internet related technologies.
- Experience with documentation such as reports, submittals and drawings.
- Ability to understand customer requirements/restraints and offer a cost-effective solution to the service needs.
- Successfully completed Tridium Niagara Certification, Advanced Tridium Niagara Certification, Niagara Analytics Certification
- Experience with HC900 or other PLC
- Experience and factory trained in Honeywell Fire Alarm Systems for installation and programming
- Experience with EBI setup and graphics
