As our brand presence evolves, our digital outputs must keep pace with that change and be a consistent first touch point with our customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Our social media channels play a key role in advancing the perception of Leidos as visitors consume our content and are increasingly centered on targeted and personalized engagement. We’re looking to add a social media specialist to our team to support the day-to-day operation of our core corporate channels, acting as a key subject matter expert and helping to shape the narrative across platforms.
Supporting the Global Social Media lead, the social media specialist role includes sourcing, writing, editing, and providing final QA -- in line with AP style -- various types of content; updating social media accounts; increasing engagement and distribution; and monitoring and reporting on content updates and campaigns.
This role will also educate and inspire the rest of the marketing and communications team to tell our story more effectively through social, not to mention the wider business through advocacy. Likewise, community management will be a key deliverable day-to-day; ensuring listening, reporting, and response to inbound inquiries are efficiently handled.
You will look for ways to effectively distribute our content across social media, acting as the local point of contact in the National Capital Region, covering several live and in-person events for greater on-the-day coverage of key events, initiatives, and campaigns.
Primary Responsibilities
Contribute to the strategy, planning, and execution of content for Leidos social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice and campaign priorities.
Collaborate with the communications & marketing team to create engaging, user-focused content that enhances our social media presence and drives user engagement.
Provide support and guidance on best practices for social media to internal teams, ensuring a cohesive and effective online presence.
Create content for Leidos.com each month, including intelligent re-use and repackaging of existing content into new mediums and formats for use across social media.
Coordinate with Global Social Media Lead for social media promotion of internal and external content, contributing to the weekly social editorial calendar.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications or related field and 2+ years relevant work experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Experience managing social media content within a large enterprise.
Ability to maintain editorial governance and cadence in-line with pre-agreed standards, deadlines, and metrics.
Proficient across the variety of social media platforms and able to produce and schedule output in line with corporate standards and tone of voice.
Can influence, guide and educate a wide range of stakeholder on the virtues of social media, content creation and editorial output
Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions and direction.
Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
Demonstrable expertise in successful social media strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in social media content creation, preferably in a technology-focused company.
Degree in communications, marketing, marketing, journalism, or a related field.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
