Position Purpose:
Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in at least one career function from Corporate, Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain or Technology.
Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Project manage various supplier Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quote (RFQ) activities to maximize purchase acquisition costs for various commodities
- Enhance procurement department activities through improved efficiencies of established processes
- Opportunity to learn ERP / Asset Management functions, including management of designated areas (i.e.: PO placement, invoice management, inventory, etc.)
- Assist with procurement department documentation and establishment of processes
- Support various procurement department initiatives
Work Environment:
- This position is based at the Jones Island facility located in Milwaukee, WI
- Estimated schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
- Target Dates: May 28, 2025 - August 29, 2025
- Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant.
- Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.
- While we may extend offers to some interns, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the internship.
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Supply Chain - Current college level standing at an accredited university or college.
- Class or practical experience in developing Request for Proposals (RFP's) or strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Past experience working with directly with suppliers or customers is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of contracts and agreements is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening.
- Proficient analytical skills to be able to analyze and decipher complex data and information.
- Performing costs analysis on recommending business award decisions.
- Efficiency in managing spreadsheets and some practical use in ERP systems is preferred.
- Comfortable with presenting concepts and recommendations to groups of people.
- Must be able to perform and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Google Office Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt quickly.
