Data Analyst - Military Veterans

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

The data management position provides guidance to COMET customers, both internal and external, to include proper data entry, oversight to data architecture, data queries and reporting, user training, functional customer service support, and asset and maintenance oversight in the Maximo application. In addition, assisting in the implementation of Asset Management across COMET

Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Perform data management tasks such as use of pre-defined data queries, creation of customized reports, graphic representation of data and simple metrics presentations with direction and guidance

• Familiarity with Asset Management concepts and process

• Familiarity with data base table structures and functionality

• Provides Maximo user guidance on simple screen functionality

• Perform data management audits in Maximo, in accordance with existing policies and procedures to verify authoring and execution data maintained within expected guidelines

• Possess enhanced customer service skills required for customer interaction and feedback

• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office programs

• Must be able to support weekend and shift work.

• Develop and present multimedia briefings using qualitative and quantitative data

• Performs Ground Systems Support property audits

Qualifications - External

High School Diploma or equivalent and three years relevant experience

• Ideal candidate has a working knowledge of Maximo.

• Collaborate with and provide guidance to Engineering, and Technical Shops, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management and Work Management in the Maximo application and Asset Management.

• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.

• Possess defined customer service skills, required for interaction to discuss job requirements.

• Exhibit excellent communication skills, both orally and written.

• Computer and software experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and outlook required.

• Highly organized and detail oriented.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

• Will be required to climb stairs in order to access equipment for trouble shooting.

• Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.

• Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.

• Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.

• Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.

Work Environment

  • All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
  • Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
  • Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
  • Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.

Equipment and Machines

  • Cranes and other heavy equipment such as crane carriers, Hi-Rangers, man lift platforms, hydraulic lifts, spider staging, converter dollies, cargo lift trailers, and tractor/trailers.
  • Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance.
  • Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Attendance

  • Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule

Other Essential Functions

  • If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
  • Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.
  • Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver's license.
  • Must pass a federal background investigation.
  • Must comply with all "drug free workplace" requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • NCCCO Preferred.
