The UC Irvine Department of Chemistry is one of four departments in the School of Physical Sciences. We train thousands of general education students each year in Chemistry fundamentals and provide administrative support to our faculty and research staff, while providing world-class education and training for our student population while pushing the frontiers of knowledge through cutting edge research. Your Role on the Team
Independently uses adopted course of study, program outlines and other materials to design and deliver different curriculum for the Chemistry Academy. Collaborates with the Department of Chemistry staff to effectively design and implement curriculum aimed towards the introduction to middle school and high school students the studies of Chemistry and other areas of Physical Sciences. Participates in meetings with staff and parents.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $69500- $96500 (Annual).
Required:
- Demonstrated ability to teach students of diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated understanding of behavior modification strategies, techniques and methods, conflict resolution procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of child growth and development principles and theories.
- Working knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction.
- Proficiency in selection and utilization of appropriate educational materials, supplies, equipment, technology and learning aids.
- Proficiency in conducting a comprehensive teaching and instruction program.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form using grammatically correct language.
- 1-3 years High School teaching experience in STEM related areas or professional expertise
Preferred:
- Current Clear cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certification via California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL) or equivalent. This is required to teach at a public school, but preferred at a private school.
- Valid Credential or license authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned.á This is required to teach at a public school, but preferred at a private school.
