Position Summary/Description:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Data Integration and Analytics ( DIA ) unit at Kenan-Flagler Business School is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services on Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments. As a Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions that enable effective data integration and analytics. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, or comparable cloud platforms, and a strong understanding of cloud architecture and AI services. Education and Experience:
* Three or more years of experience managing cloud-based services in Azure, AWS , or Google preferred.
* Proven experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
* Hands-on experience with cloud-based services, AI integration, and data analytics tools and technologies.
* Strong understanding of cloud architecture, including the ability to design secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure AI Studio, Azure Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and PowerBI or comparable services and capabilities.
* Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards for cloud infrastructure.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in cloud environments.
* Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions.
* Familiarity with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
* Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehousing principles and Kimball methodology.
Essential Skills:
Experience managing cloud based services in Azure, AWS, or Google.
