Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for an Electromagnetics (EM) Enterprise Capability Senior Manager to join our team in Berkeley, MO (St. Louis surrounding area).  The EM capability leader is responsible for Electromagnetic test facilities and operations across multiple Boeing sites. 

The EM capability performs verification and validation activities across the product life cycle.  Specific activities include Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, Lightning, RF characterization of materials, antenna characterization, electro-optic/laser testing and radar testing.

One of the key roles of this leader is to develop and implement a technology strategy for the organization.  This strategy is developed based on current and future program verification needs, Enterprise technology initiatives and input from external technical affiliations.  Key elements of this strategy include ensuring the availability of the proper critical skills, application of new technology to improve effectiveness of testing, investing in new technology/test methods and optimization of facilities.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage a geographically diverse team of engineers and technicians
  • Maintain and implement a viable staffing forecast and ensuring that the team has adequate training and tools
  • Support multiple estimating and proposal activities and working with programs to determine the most cost-effective test methods and locations
  • Proactively ensure proper maintenance and safe operations of multiple, large complex facilities through regular monitoring, capital planning and implementation of disciplined processes
  • Maintain and actively use an appropriate set of metrics to track effectiveness and improvements of the EM operations
  • Define and create Design Practices to ensure that best practices are documented and utilized throughout the enterprise

 Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science    
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
  • Electromagnetics engineering experience
  • Experience with Engineering Test activities
  • Experience working with external (i.e. non-Boeing) stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, or government representatives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • 5+ years of electromagnetic engineering and/or test experience

Shift:

This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $178,500 – $241,500
