Field Equipment Technician - Military Veterans
at John Deere
- Pay $25 - $35 / hour
• Travel to and from various customer locations.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on a variety of golf and sports turf equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance.
• Overhaul and test major components.
• Complete documentation of diagnostics
and repairs performed on work orders.
• Clock in promptly at the time of leaving house in the morning (no later than 7am) and clock out promptly at the end of day (upon returning home). Paid driveway to driveway.
• Complete paperwork immediately after a job is finished. A 30-minute window at the end of each day for any and all remaining paperwork will be granted at the discretion of the manager.
• Utilize equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Diagnose and identify malfunctions.
• Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by Service Manager.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of formal technical training program in diesel or mechanical equipment is preferred.
- Proven experience (2-3 years) as a technician or mechanic performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, particularly with John Deere equipment.
- Willingness to participate in training programs (on and offsite) required for the development of skills and knowledge.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with basic computer functions.
- Must possess adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
- Self motivated. Ability to work autonomously with little to no supervision.
- Familiar and compliant with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Forklift certification required.
- Must possess a clean driving record.
