A Senior Project Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Windsor Locks, CT area. The Senior Project Engineer will lead cross-functional engineering teams in the development, execution, and delivery of environmental and thermal control systems for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and DOD & Science programs, managing technical scope, cost, and schedule while serving as the key interface between engineering and program management.

responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, execution, and reporting of technical aspects of engineering projects.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams and act as the key interface between program management and engineering.
- Perform control account manager duties, including cost, scope, and schedule management.
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to analyze cost and schedule metrics.
- Coordinate and lead team meetings, track action items, and provide management updates.
- Evaluate technical and programmatic tasks and manage resource needs in a matrix environment.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for supply chain, operations, and manufacturing teams.
- Support preventive and corrective action planning and drive failure investigation activities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience or
- Advanced degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience or
- No degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.
