Position Overiew: The Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Aide and Interviewer to join our team. The Cognition and Brain Circuitry Laboratory, directed by Dr. David Osher (visit www.davidosher.com for more details), conducts neuroscience research on the functional and structural architecture of the human brain and its role in cognition. The Research Aide and Interviewer will support technical and operational aspects of research, including participant recruitment, behavioral and brain-imaging experiments, and laboratory coordination. This role will work under direct supervision and follow established procedures to support research activities. Key Responsibilities: Research Support: Assists with behavioral and brain-imaging experiments, including functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), and functional connectivity. Prepares lab equipment, runs experimental protocols, and ensures compliance with established procedures under supervision. Collects, records, and organizes research data following standardized protocols. Laboratory Coordination: Schedules and recruits research participants for experiments. Maintains lab databases, research records, and documentation. Organizes and coordinates lab meetings. Manages administrative tasks such as purchasing materials, processing reimbursements, and maintaining lab records. Compliance & Training Support: Assists with Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewals to ensure compliance with research regulations. Tracks CITI training and safety certifications for lab personnel. Aids new team members with MRI safety training and computational resource setup. Minimum Required Qualifications Education: High school diploma Experience: 0-1 years of relevant experience required Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a research or laboratory setting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of research protocols, data collection, and compliance processes. Ability to follow established guidelines and work effectively as part of a research team. Salary Range: $15.00-$19.71 *The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the units available budget, and the candidates qualifications. This is a one-year position, with the possibility of extension based on performance and available funding.
