Mechanical Engineer - Military Veterans

Are you a creative and driven Mechanical Engineer looking to make an impact in the medical device industry? Join our client's dynamic team and play a pivotal role in designing and improving life-saving products such as hospital beds and equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to product quality, safety, and compliance! This is an 11-month project.



 


location: Batesville, Indiana


job type: Contract


salary: $33 - 37 per hour


work hours: 8am to 5pm


education: Bachelors


 


responsibilities:




  • Design and implement changes for mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and product assemblies.

  • Perform design analysis and engineering releases for small to medium projects or contribute to larger complex projects.

  • Generate feasibility assessments, product risk documentation, DFMEA, and cost estimates.

  • Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and marketing teams to ensure project success.

  • Challenge established work processes and proactively find creative solutions to meet performance goals.

  • Guide and share technical knowledge with other team members.


Requirements:





  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

  • 2+ years of engineering experience with a focus on mechanical design and development.

  • Solid organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient problem-solving skills with adaptability to changing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.


Preferred Qualifications:





  • Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with FDA regulations.

  • Proficiency in Solid Edge and performing tolerance stack-up analysis.

  • Experience with root cause analysis tools (5-why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, fault trees).

  • Knowledge of documenting designs and analysis including hardware requirements, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and testing requirements.
