S-100 Unmanned Helicopter Maintainer - Military Veterans

The Defense Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an unmanned aircraft maintainer to work in our Huntsville, AL office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the unmanned aircraft system mission.  In this mission we currently operate Group 1 and Group 2 aircraft. We are preparing to expand into Group 3 operations, specifically with the Schiebel S-100 platform.

Primary responsibilities.

  • This individual’s primarily responsibility will be to serve as an Unmanned Aircraft System Maintainer for the Schiebel S-100 unmanned helicopter. 
  • Manage tool control, ensuring all tools are accounted for and properly maintained.
  • Perform crew chief duties, overseeing maintenance teams and coordinating tasks to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems and components.
  • Mentor less experienced team members, providing guidance and training to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • When not supporting S-100 operations, additional responsibilities may include operation or maintenance of small (Group 1 & 2) Unmanned Aircraft Systems on various Government Contracts and Part 107 Commercial Operations.

Basic Qualifications. 

  • 8 years of relevant experience or 12+ years of applicable industry experience
  • Experience maintaining the S-100 unmanned helicopter. 
  • Experience in tool control and crew chief duties
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be U.S. Citizen with active Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Currently qualified S-100 maintainer.
  • FAA Part 107 Certificate.
  • Relevant technical certification or degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in unmanned aircraft and payload design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with composite materials and fabrication techniques.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
