Internal Medicine Cardiology Open Rank Assistant, Associate or Full Rank - Ladder Rank, Professor of Clinical X, and Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series The University of California Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine seeks to hire a faculty member with expertise in Cardiology to join faculty in the Division of Clinical Sciences. We seek an established physician scientist who is devoted to academic excellence in clinical research with an emphasis on advanced cardiac imaging and structural heart disease assessment and guidance. The successful candidate for this position should also demonstrate notable scientific contributions and a track record of extramural support. To foster development of collaborative research in cardiology, the successful candidates will participate in campus wide collaborative research across different units at UCR and the cardiology fellowship program at the UCR SOM. The Department of Internal Medicine fully aligns with and embraces the SOM mission to train a diverse physician workforce and to deliver clinical and research programs that serve the medically underserved in the Inland Southern California region. Faculty play important roles in the undergraduate and graduate medical education programs and provide role models and training for students and residents considering the specialty. In addition, the internal medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship provides additional physician placements in the region, towards the overarching goal of growing the physician workforce. The department provides clinical care at UCR Health Citrus tower and through professional service agreements. Founded in 2013, the School of Medicine at UCR is the sixth University of California Medical School and serves the rapidly growing Inland Southern California region by training a much- needed physician workforce and catalyzing innovations in research, education, and healthcare delivery. The UCR School of Medicine's mission is to improve the health of the community in the Inland Empire, one of the most ethnically diverse and medically underserved areas of the country. UCR is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate student body. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input. The successful candidates must possess an M.D., or equivalent degree and be eligible to practice in the State of California by the time of employment. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine or appropriate American Certifying Board. The successful candidates will also be expected to show a strong commitment to the education of medical students, residents and fellows. The successful candidates will also be expected to participate in research, scholarly activities, University and public service appropriate for the academic appointments in Ladder Rank Professor, Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical series. Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and our affiliated hospitals. See Table 5 for the salary range. The Salary range for this position is $121,100 - $320,100.
