Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Securities Operations Specialist as part of the Documentation Preparation within Wealth and Investment Management Operations. This team prepares estate documents for WIM Custom Loan Operations for pre-close, closing and performing regulatory due diligence for the business and Wells Fargo internal customers. The Specialist will be responsible for assembling, preparing, and the initial boarding and funding of deals/transactions/facilities onto accounting systems of record. Primarily, you will be responsible ensuring commercial closing documents for loans/transactions meet flood insurance requirements. This will include in depth review of collateral, legal agreements, and credit approvals to ensure final executed details are captured accurately and the regulatory and company requirements are met for flood zones.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in moderately complex lifecycle initiatives and support tasks and act as a participant in large-scale planning and deliverables; identify opportunity for process improvements within Securities Operations such as working and preparing pre-close loan documents for moderately complex commercial loans
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational tasks and coordinate all aspects of loan closings
- Independently resolve moderately complex issues for customer, loan, and regulatory diligence while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; may lead team to meet deliverables
- Accurately evaluate and upload data into the systems of record
- Research moderately complex business risks, review time sensitive documents and coordinate legal activities for loan documentation such as purchases from third party sources with internal staff
- Manage expertise in the following operational processes including structured loan operations and serving as primary liaison between Credit, Sales, and Legal departments.
- Work collaboratively with Credit, Sales and Legal regarding proper procedures and documentation requirements necessary to ensure accuracy with negotiated terms and ensure alignment with appropriate compliance standards
- Review and negotiate complex legal documentation, evaluate risks, devise strategies to mitigate documentation risk and identifying procedural modifications
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for lower-level staff
- Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Commercial Banking or Wealth Management Loan Operations experience
- Prior experience with documentation tools such as AFS, Hogan, Client Link
- Knowledge and understanding of FEMA Guidelines, FDPA (Flood Disaster Protection Act) Requirements and Flood regulations
- Ability to interpret insurance policies, legal contracts, and loan documents with a critical lens to risk assess and ensure compliance to regulatory policy
- Ability to interpret and understand credit agreements, credit approval documents, and security
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skill
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience creating strong visual PowerPoint presentations and confidently delivering to management and senior leader
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
