Payroll Coordinator - Military Veterans

Target salary range: $60k-65k. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process biweekly and semi-monthly timesheets.
- Process multi-state payrolls in accordance with company policy and in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and employment laws.
- Prepare and process off-cycle payrolls for adjustments and bonuses.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Initiate registrations in new tax jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely submission of employee benefits premiums and other third-party payments.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, and any changes to employee compensation or benefits.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including personal employee information, pay rates, tax exemptions, and benefits selections.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end activities to include payroll tax filings, balance sheet reconciliations, and W-2 production.
- Support audits and assist with providing necessary payroll documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in multi-state, multi-pay schedule payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint, Microsoft Excel, and payroll software (e.g. ADP Workforce Now, UKG Pro)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with employees and resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional – CPP) is a plus.
