Criteria Checklist
- I will be a citizen of the United States on
- February 24, 2025.
- I have not been convicted of a felony.
- I will be 20 years old on February 24, 2025.
- I will be less than 35 years old prior to
- February 24, 2025 OR I will be 35 years or
- older on February 24, 2025, but I have
- federal active duty military service and
- qualify for a maximum age extension.
- I have not been dishonorably discharged from
- military service.
If you do not meet all of the criteria above, you will not be permitted to take the examination.

Salary:
During academy training, compensation is up to $59,612. After one year of service, the minimum compensation increases to $98,300.
Benefits:
- 120 hours of vacation annually, up to a maximum of 224 hours, depending on length of service.
- 104 hours annually paid holiday time.
- 24 to 40 paid personal leave hours based on length of service.
- Paid sick leave accumulating at the rate of 104 hours per year.
