Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides planning, leadership and direction to the daily operation of the RN team in the development and management of services, systems, and process improvements.

Provides planning, leadership and direction to the daily operation of the Inpatient and outpatient Rehab Services team in the development and management of services, systems, and process improvements 

Develops and implements routine monitoring of important inpatient Rehab Services functions 

Collaborates with the Director to complete special projects and program development, to maintain and improve patient care and/or inpatient and outpatient services 

Identifies areas for shift and individual improvement; completing individual performance evaluations within specified timeframes. Takes disciplinary action, including termination, when necessary; completes and documents all steps taken within management guidelines 

Represents Rehab Services to physicians, nursing personnel, administration, patients and families. Maintains positive guest relations regarding all aspects of his/her position 

Assists with selection, hiring, training, orientation and instruction of new employees and Rehab Therapy students; providing a positive learning environment 

Participates in Performance Improvement activities, research projects and other projects as requested, completing all assignments within the specified timeframes. Serves on committees, as requested, fulfilling obligations from these within specified timeframes 

Develops and maintains effective channels of communication within the department and across the medical center teams to promote relations and interactions 

Fulfills the duties of the Rehab Director in his/her absence 

Facilitates the operations of Rehab Services equipment to ensure safe care for patient of all ages, from newborn through geriatric; recognizes equipment malfunctions and initiates maintenance and repair to ensure a safe environment for patients and employees 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current RN license in the state of Kansas.
  • BLS through AHA or ARC
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Progressive Rehab management experience
  • Two years of clinical experience in an inpatient and outpatient therapy setting
