Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Administration
Empire State University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Administration to support the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. The successful candidate will work with students in the MPA program, and the area of expertise for this position is open to applicants whose academic background and research interests intersect with not-for-profit administration, state and municipal government administration, and human resources administration. Special consideration will be given to candidates with practical experience in public or not-for-profit administration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching and advising graduate students in the program, developing and teaching online courses, supervising capstone projects, and engaging in research and service. The successful candidate may also teach and engage in course development in other graduate and undergraduate programs as determined by need and availability.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited U.S. university or comparable non-U.S. university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Health and Human Services, or a closely related field at the time of appointment.
- College or university level teaching experience.
- Experience with supporting diverse populations.
- Ability to work in a distributed faculty environment.
- Ability to teach and develop courses at the graduate level, including one or more of the following areas: state and municipal government, ethics, human resources, and/or health policy.
- An active scholarly agenda or has the potential for a coherent and robust research agenda.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with teaching and mentoring in online learning environments.
- Experience with academic program development.
- Relevant industry and/or field experience.
- Demonstrated research and teaching interests in collaborative management and governance networks, public budgeting and finance, communication policy, and/or public information systems design and management.
- Professional certification, such as ICMA-CM, CNP, CHC, CPHIMS, or other relevant certifications.
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
Special Information:
- Occasional travel will be required to fulfill university-wide commitments.
- Office hours will vary to accommodate student needs.
- Some evening and/or weekend engagement with students is required.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.

Rank/Salary: Tenure-track, assistant/associate professor, appointment and salary to commensurate with experience and qualifications.
