Position Summary The Psychologist & Assistant Director, Training provides secondary leadership for the doctoral counseling psychology internship program in addition to providing psychological services to the WashU community. This individual has primary responsibility for the practicum training program.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides group and individual therapy, psychological assessment and evaluation, and treatment consultation and recommendation/referral for graduate and undergraduate students.
- Oversees the practicum training program which includes serving as the primary consultant to supervisors of practicum trainees, the coordination and evaluation of practicum trainees, maintenance of all records for practicum trainees, the onboarding and orientation of trainees and assists with the remediation process of practicum trainees when necessary.
- Provides individual supervision/didactic instruction for practicum trainees and doctoral interns including weekly group supervision with practicum trainees.
- Maintains clinical notes, supervision records, and CEUs for licensure.
- Assists Training Director with internship duties including onboarding, orientation, and other administrative requirements of the internship program, including oversight of the doctoral internship program in the absence of the Associate Director/Training Director.

- Licensed as a psychologist in MO; if licensed in another state then license eligible within MO within 6 months of start.
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Completion of an APA accredited doctoral internship.
- Minimum 2-3 years licensed as a psychologist prior to hiring.
- Experience providing group and individual supervision to psychology graduate, clinical social work, and professional counseling trainees.
- Experience with a range of clinical issues, ranging from developmental issues to more serious mental health concerns.
- Previous experience in a University Counseling Center.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence and commitment to multicultural organizational development.
- One to two years of post-doctoral work supervising psychology graduate students.
- Leadership experience within a university counseling center such as a coordinator position.
- Advanced knowledge of supervision theory, particularly developmental and multicultural models.
- Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.

Salary Range $74,900.00 - $116,000.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
