Position Summary

Elon University's Koenigsberger Learning Center is pleased to announce a fellowship position to begin July 15, 2025. The KLC is a centrally-located academic support hub comprised of three offices: Academic Advising, Academic Accommodations & Accessibility, Learning Assistance.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Academic Support Fellow appointed to this temporary, 10-month position will collaborate with staff in all three offices. Renewal for a second year (July 15, 2026-May 15, 2027) is possible with supervisor approval.

The Academic Support Fellow will have ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities, including: (1) being cross-trained on office processes and procedures in all KLC offices; (2) participating in weekly 1:1 meetings with supervisor to reflect on learning, identify grown opportunities, and locate new areas for exploration; (3) attending and presenting at a conference; (4) paid membership to a professional organization; (5) representing the KLC at admissions/orientation events; (6) participating in KLC working groups (DEI; Assessment; Communications and Outreach).

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Qualified candidates must have completed their graduate degree in a related field, such as college student personnel/development, counseling, or higher education administration, OR be in the final semester of their related graduate degree program. Demonstrated experience in first-year programs, academic support, academic advising, and/or supporting students with disabilities is preferred. Candidates must be able to commit to the full 10-month appointment (July 15, 2025-May 15, 2026).

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with KLC staff to develop academic support programming for specific populations; support residential neighborhoods through embedded programming in collaboration with Neighborhood Associations, Community Directors, and Resident Assistants
  • Create self-service resources for faculty so that they are empowered to better support and advise students; create an online repository for these resources
  • Provide additional administrative support to KLC offices during times of high-need, such as exam proctoring in Academic Accommodations & Accessibility, providing administrative support to the Office of Academic Advising during high-traffic seasons, and holding embedded Learning Assistance success workshops for ELN 1010
  • Teach one section of ELN 1010, a 1-credit hour, first-year seminar course designed on a foundation of holistic academic advising; serve as academic advisor to 16-18 students enrolled in this course through the duration of the fellowship
  • Assess the efficacy of academic support programming in the KLC and identify additional special populations for future academic support initiatives

Special Instructions to Applicants: This is a paid 10-month fellowship. Compensation includes: $18,500 stipend; $3,000 meal stipend; On-campus housing provided/required in Mill Point Apartments (shared fully furnished university suite with private bedroom and bathroom; Utilities, internet, washer/dryer, streaming TV, and parking included).
