Are you ready to be part of a dynamic and expanding team? We are looking for a skilled HVAC PM Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment while monitoring building automation and HVAC control systems.

Essential Accountabilities:
Hourly Pay Range: $20.80 - $28.00 (Starting rates are based on our Compensation Guidelines, taking into consideration total relevant, verifiable experience (UAB/UAB Medicine and outside experience), grade minimum, internal equity, and pay ranges).
Work Schedule: Incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule, in order to meet the needs of the department and Hospital. Position is designated as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to work during emergency situations, such as inclement weather, regardless of the University's closure. Employees should be prepared to travel to work during inclement weather, emphasizing the importance of their role in critical situations.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) required.
MVR: Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
o Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
o Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet.
o Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distance between and within buildings on campus.
o Working in confined spaces.
o Working within extreme temperature ranges.
